![]() Belts from my closet just didn’t work either, no matter how wide. I had even worn a ‘fanny pack’ pulled tight down at my hips for a month or two. I had been wearing back support belts pulled down to my hips all day, every day, for a year or more, but they were a bit too wide, so they also cut off my stomach and intestines which made me miserable all day, yet, I needed that support. My hip has hurt for almost 3 years now and this belt finally comfortably delivers the firm, tight adjustable support my body knew it needed. I just knew if I could design my own hip support it would help so much. ( I was not paid to review this) If I could give it 10 stars, I would !! This belt is very well constructed and fits nicely as it should and it doesn’t slip or slide up or down. Thank you for making producucts that really work. I could walk without being bent over and didn’t have the pain that I was so used to having. was ordered and my therapist recommended this belt. (Too risky.) I could barely walk after a 2 falls in June. I was told there was nothing more they could do for me except for a neurostimulator which I refused to have inserted. Joints and that is when things really went south. ![]() More shots, progressing arthritis, 2 more surgeries and more shots, nerve blocks and ablations. I started getting shots in my lumbar spine in 2006 and by 2007 I needed a 3 level fusion. A few injuries didn’t help and neiither did arthritis. I’ve had back problems all my life and as the years passed, my back grew worse. I bought this before I registered so I hope it gets posted. (costs additional +$3.00, give patient measurement at the checkout) All other measurements use standard sizes. The Serola Belt is worn around the hips, not the waist.Ĭustom – Only for hip measurements less than 30 inches or more than 52 inches. ![]() Available in sizes: (See letter on the bottom right corner of the label) The elastic layer is then applied to compress the joint, bring the pelvis back into correct alignment, and improve posture. The key is to compress the soft tissues of the hips just enough so that when the joint opens, it stops at its normal end of range of motion. Together, these forces support the underlying mechanism of pressure variance and resist harmful stresses placed on the Sacroiliac Joint by bending, lifting, or twisting. The Serola Sacroiliac Belt has a patented design to combine the best of both layers. Elastic only belts on the other hand, fail to provide a stop point for excess motion, leading to a false sense of security. Many products use buckles and other systems that allow too much leverage, which can reduce range of motion below normal and create further irritation. Studies have found that correct tension for a sacroiliac belt is about what you would use to tie a shoe. Ligaments relay position sense to help regulate muscle tone (ligamento-muscular reflex).Ligaments do not compress a joint, instead, they allow movement within a normal range of motion.Ligaments are essentially non-elastic therefore elastic cannot establish a stopping point.Ligaments establish a stopping point at the end of the range of motion. In choosing the correct belt, you must consider the function of the ligaments: Can be worn for extended periods without causing muscle weakness or atrophy Serola vs. ![]() Takes place of the ligaments, not the muscles, therefore improving muscle function and strength throughout the body.Elastic layer provides compression to help pull the SIJ together and maintain correct posture.Non-elastic layer mimics the action of ligaments and provides a stop point at the end of normal range of motion. The Serola Sacroiliac Belt’s patented design makes it the only belt that effectively normalizes the function of the sacroiliac joint.By wearing the Serola Sacroiliac Belt throughout your day, chances of injury are lessened considerably during either work or play. Doing so provides pain relief caused by pulled muscles, ligament stresses or strains, muscle spasms, and pinched nerves in the hips and pelvis. By wrapping the belt around a specific part of the hips, it provides stability to the base of your spine and acts as an external ligament to help put the Sacroiliac Joint back into a normal range of motion. The Serola Sacroiliac Belt treats a variety of common problems that result in light, moderate, and even severe back pain. These patterns are often experienced as muscle spasms or weakness, and back, hip, and leg pain. Sprained ligaments in the sacroiliac region cause imbalanced muscular responses which lead to structural compensation patterns. The Sacroiliac Joint is one of the most common underlying causes of back pain today.
